Rohin Roy Dheer, MEng

Rohin Roy Dheer obtained his a Masters of Engineering at RESL in 2014 with a focus on storage software packages. He now works for Momentum Solar in Calgary.

His project is titled “Residential battery energy storage modeling; comparative performance assessment of three different software packages”. He is using MATLAB, HOMER and TRNSYS as a research tools. The results of this project will be used to select the most appropriate modeling tool for future projects, depending upon their objectives and needs. Rohin successfully conducted a project on “Charge algorithm effects upon battery performance for a solar storage application”.

Rohin completed his bachelors of Mechanical Engineering from NED University in Karachi, Pakistan. He worked as a design engineer in Synergy Corporation where he focused on generator canopies for 20 kVA units. Rohin has experience in both the design and fabrication of horizontal axis wind turbines. His core interest is the optimization of renewable energy systems and their storage devices. He is certified in Autodesk, AutoCAD, PRO-Engineer, boiler operation, maintenance, and control.
