Bryan Ellis

Bryan is an undergraduate mechanical engineering student who worked at RESL as a summer research assistant in 2016. His primary project was the design and construction of prototype lithium-ion batteries for drop-in replacement of lead-acid. These were built from both cylindrical and prismatic cells and has custom BMS built.

His engineering interests include the development of renewable energy resources in Nova Scotia, applications of solar energy to the aerospace industry, and also energy grid control systems. Before attending Dalhousie University, Bryan completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours, Biology) at Saint Mary’s University and hopes this experience can provide a unique perspective to the engineering process. Outside of engineering Bryan loves sports, particularly football, as he is a former player and coach.
