Jason Leadbetter, MASc

Jason Leadbetter completed his MASc with a focus on grid-integrated residential-scale lithium-ion battery storage. He now works for MCA Consultants as a mechanical engineer.

Jason Leadbetter completed both his BEng (2010) and MASc (2012) at Dalhousie University. His thesis project involved experimental assessment of large format residential lithium-ion batteries for peak shaving and renewable energy storage applications with a focus on energy management methods. In this work he created a storage scoping model, an experimental test bench consisting of a 5 kWh battery pack, and then a detailed calibrated model  for residential peak shaving.

Throughout his MASc he was also actively involved in student life at Dalhousie University and was the VP Finance of the Dalhousie Engineering Graduate Society (DEGS) for two years, as well as working at the T-room student lounge.

Jason has published two journal articles and has presented at conferences across Canada.
