Behzad Barzegar, MASc

Behzad graduated with an MASc  from RESL in 2014 focused on off-grid streetlighting. He designed and constructed off-grid streetlight systems and conducted experimental investigation of their performance and sizing implications. He is now a PhD Student at École Polytechnique in Montreal.

He has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from K.N. Toosi University in Tehran. During 2010 he worked as a research assistant modeling the losses in an axial flow turbine. More recently he has studied the effects of vortices on wind turbine blade aerodynamic performance.

Behzad's interests lie in renewable and clean energy technologies, where he enjoys design optimization. He has certifications in Management, Catia, MATLAB, and TRNSYS. He intends to apply his TRNSYS knowledge to study energy systems at RESL.

Behzad spent the summer/fall of 2012 working with Sebastian on the tidal energy storage project for Fundy Tidal Inc.
