Blenson Paul, MSc

Blenson is pursuing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering to develop repurposed Lithium-ion batteries.  His research aims to develop optimization strategies using predictive control approaches for the efficient use of repurposed EV batteries for Grid Storage, aiming for the significant reduction of electricity storage cost.

 

He  completed his Engineering (B.E) in electronics from Visvesvaraya technological university, India in 2010. He carried out his project work in the field of remote home security management using internet and mobile app.  Later, he worked as a software engineer at TESCO Bangalore for 2 years specializing in web infrastructure service. In 2016, he received his M.Sc degree in “Organic and molecular electronics” from Technical university of Dresden, Germany.  He developed design and testing methodology to integrate solar cells on carbon fibre reinforced concrete for prefabricated building (BIPV) applications. He joined RESL in May 2017, to pursue his PhD in Mechanical Engineering to develop  optimized control strategy to develop repurposed Lithium-ion batteries.  His research aims to develop optimization strategies using predictive control approaches (e.g MPC ) for the efficient use of repurposed EV batteries for Grid Storage, and leading to the significant reduction of electricity storage cost. His interests includes circuit design, programming, solar energy, energy efficiency management, passive building designs and technology integration. He is looking forward to integrate his experience into mechanical engineering field though his research.
